Because the St. Croix County Alliance of Sportsmen is losing it’s pheasant rearing facility due to the Hwy 64 and CTH “K” revamping, three conservation clubs in St. Croix County, Glen Hills, Hudson Rod Gun & Archery Club and Star Prairie Fish & Game purchased 200 pheasants each (600 total). These birds were released by members into the wild on public land in St. Croix and Southern Polk Counties on October 15th, 2004. These clubs feel this is an important contribution to the local hunting population and would like to see the tradition continue.
The St. Croix County Alliance of Sportsmen matched the monies from the 3 conservation clubs to be able to buy the pheasants for the countywide release this year.
